Rainy Days, Beautiful Quilts

I am so thankful our area of the country escaped all the bad weather.  We have had 3 days of rain, rain, rain.  I am hoping it will stop soon, the rivers and creeks are out of their banks.

On this dreary day, I think s few beautiful quilts will lift the spirit!

These are a few more of Lisa's quilts.  Lisa is a great piecer and that makes my job so easy.  Oh, she loved her hedgehog quilt!

I think this quilt was made with a layer cake.  It looks like it would be easy to make.  I quilted this with the Drunken Feathers Pantograph with white thread.

This has got to be one of the most adorable quilts I've seen.  Sundresses!

I quilted this with the Popcorn Pantograph with white thread.

Last but not least, this cute baby quilt.

You can't tell what the middle of the quilt is so I took a close up.

But wait, it gets better!  Do you see the Three Blind Mice?

Tomorrow the QBees will come and I will hear about Momma Barb's trip to Paducah!  I am sure she and Gladys had a wonderful time.

First 5K of the Season

This past Saturday we opened our 5K season with the Ridgewood Elementary Rabbit Run.  This run benefits the Elementary School and the running club that was started 4 years ago.  This year there were 28 children under the age of 11 that participated and a total of 110 participants!  A great turn out!

This year I was very happy to have my daughter and son-in-law join the fun!  They both did very well.  Here we are after we got home from the event.

Amanda, Keegan, Jeff & Carol

I had Amanda take a picture of Jeff and I.  It is fun to see how we have changed year to year!

Yes, we are getting older, but I also believe we are getting better :)  I ran the 5K in 36:13 which was 3:30 minutes faster than the same run last year.  I was amazed at how much I improved.  Jeff ran in 27:08, 30 seconds faster than last year.  His goal is to break the 27:00 mark this year.  I am hoping to go under 35:00.

Not only did my children run, but so did my niece Jianna.

Jianna's Dad (my youngest brother, Jason) ran cross country when he was in high school.  He longer no runs due to two knee surgeries.  He is there to support his daughter and in my book that is what counts.  Jianna place third in her age group, 11 and under.  I am so proud of her!

Our next run is right here in my little town on Saturday, May 3rd.

Mondays Quilt

I received 4 quilts from Lisa and she said this was her least favorite and I could quilt it however I wanted.
I find this quilt adorable because I love hedgehogs!  They are my new favorite thing.

I quilted it with the Clover Meadow Pantograph using white thread.
I was also a lovely day to take photos outside.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

Happy Easter to all who follow my blog!

Sometimes it is nice not to have any plans for the day and just sit outside in the beautiful warm sunshine.  I have been alternating between the shade and sunshine.  I have to find that perfect spot!

My son-in-law, Keegan, made sausage gravy and biscuits for breakfast, we contributed scrambled eggs and coffee and we enjoyed our brunch on the lower patio in the sunshine.  We ate on the "good china" which is original Desert Rose Franciscan Ware.  Amanda and I enjoyed our coffee in the very small dainty cups.

Jeff took photos of items I am listing in my Etsy shop:  Sweet Peas & Possum.  Now to write the descriptions and get them posted.  Here is a sneak peek of the yoga mat bags I have made.

I think I am going to sit here on the deck and enjoy the quietness of the day!
